October 19 – Celebrate Sweetest Day by writing about a sweet
moment in your or an ancestor’s life. (First kiss, prom date, or first time
meeting a person.)
I think back onto my first kiss. I was with my Senior Girl
Scout troop, helping to setup/open up a Girl Scout Camp in the northern section
of our Girl Scout Council. There to assist in the project was a Camping Group,
a group of families who camp together. We had to set up the big tents on
platforms and move in cots and more.
Anyway, there was several families with children, and one
family had two sons who were in our age group. At night, we all sat around the
big campfire and he cozy up to me. We had smore’s and laugh and talked as a group.
This campfire was a little distance from where my troop set up our campsite,
thus he and his brother walked us back to our site. This is when I got my first
kiss. Even though he lived nearby my
home, we never did get together again. Ironically, my husband had graduated
from the same High School this young man was attending. My husband would have
already been out of school when this sweet little first kiss happened.
