In the January/February 2024 issue of Family Tree Magazine, they have introduced The Year Ahead, 366 genealogy tips will make 2024 your best research year yet by Lisa A Alzo. Lisa mapped out a day-by-day research plan.
February 13 – Study the FAQ or tips page at your favorite genealogy website to power up your searches. Then, try the advice there!
You can take your knowledge one step further to see if there are any helpful books on using your favorite genealogy website. Since I used Ancestry.com as my primary research tool, I purchased the book “Unofficial Guide to Ancestry.com” and then the “Unofficial Ancestry.com Workbook”. Even though, some of the example screens have changed over the years, I was still able to gain helpful tools to search smarter not harder. For example: it helped me to better utilize the Ancestry Card Catalog which I applied similar concepts on FamilySearch.org.
Remember to have fun and Just do Genealogy!
