The Year Ahead – September 17

In the January/February 2024 issue of Family Tree Magazine, they have introduced The Year Ahead, 366 genealogy tips will make 2024 your best research year yet by Lisa A Alzo. Lisa mapped out a day-by-day research plan.

September 17 – For Constitution Day, review the core document that defines the supreme law of the United States www.archives.gov/founding-docs/constitution-transcript

As an American Citizen, do we take for granted the Constitution? It clearly establishes the three parts of the Legislative bodies and their powers. Each branch is supposed to have equal powers, with no one branch having more powers than the other two. This ensures our democracy.

When I joined the Daughters of the American Revolution, I became more aware of Constitution Day and Constitution Week.

Did you know that we use vote for the President only and who ever came in second place became the Vice President? Often, the President and Vice President represented different parties. Some states still do this for their Governors.
