March 4 – List all your female ancestors' maiden names (or as many as you can), then search for them in online collections.
Many of my branches end with my female ancestors because I don't have maiden names. Also, be careful if you have her maiden name but can't seem to find her parents, make sure you really have her maiden name and not a previous married name. When widows remarry, they often use their married name on their later marriage records. Sometimes, their children don't even realized that the name they have for their mother was a previous married name.
