The Year Ahead – August 27

In the January/February 2024 issue of Family Tree Magazine, they have introduced The Year Ahead, 366 genealogy tips will make 2024 your best research year yet by Lisa A Alzo. Lisa mapped out a day-by-day research plan.

August 27 – Search the Nationwide Gravesite Locator <gravelocator.cem.va.gov> for military ancestors buried in Veterans Administration cemeteries.

I decided to look up my 3^rd great grandfather, Amos Booth, who was a corporal in the US Army during the Civil War. He is buried in the Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Along with his burial record, there is link to the cemetery map. Thus, if I ever wanted to visit, I could find his grave much easier with this map.
